- (Sports Network) - Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy and Italian Serie A's AC Milan officially reached an agreement for the loan of Galaxy midfielder David Beckham, the clubs announced on Thursday.
As part of the agreement, Beckham, who will join AC Milan in January, will remain under contract with L.A. and return to the MLS club in March for training and the start of the 2009 season.
His first game in Italy should be against AS Roma on Jan. 11.

"David is committed to the L.A. Galaxy and the MLS," Milan sporting director Umberto Gandini told the Associated Press. "Only David knows his future, but for sure he has a commitment to go back to the MLS and fulfill that."
The 33-year-old Beckham's goal is to stay in shape during the MLS offseason to remain in form and available for selection to England's national team.
