(Sports Network) - Boston Celtics second-year swingman Bill Walker underwent successful arthroscopic surgery Friday on his right knee.
Walker sustained a meniscus tear in the knee on the first day of training camp.
The surgery was performed by team physician Dr. Brian McKeon at the New England Baptist Hospital. No timetable was set Walker's return.
The 6-foot-6 Walker, who averaged 3.0 points and 1.0 rebound in 29 games during his rookie season, was selected out of Kansas State by the Washington Wizards
(web | news) with the 47th overall pick of the 2008 NBA Draft and was traded shortly thereafter to the Celtics in exchange for cash considerations.
