(Sports Network) - The National Basketball Association has suspended Miami Heat center Jamaal Magloire and Detroit Pistons forward Jonas Jerebko without pay for their roles in an altercation during Monday night's preseason game.
With 5:04 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Pistons' 87-83 win, Magloire instigated an altercation with Jerebko before striking him in the face. Jerebko then retaliated and struck Magloire in the face.
Magloire was suspended for two games and Jerebko one for the incident. Both players will serve their suspensions beginning with the first game of the 2009-10 NBA regular season in which they are eligible and physically able to play.
