(Sports Network) - Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said Monday that the knee injury of wide receiver Calvin Johnson was not "significant."
Johnson suffered a right knee injury in Detroit's 28-20 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday, limping off the field in the first quarter. He was attended to by members of the training staff and was on the sidelines in the second half with tape around the knee.
Monday, Schwartz did not talk definitively about the injury, saying Johnson had some tests done and the team will know more Wednesday.
"My code word [has been] 'significant,'" Schwartz said. "I wouldn't label his [injury] significant right now."
Johnson had just one catch for two yards in the Steelers game, and has 22 catches for 325 yards and a score this season.
Additionally, the Lions placed cornerback Eric King on injured reserve Monday with a shoulder injury. They also placed defensive tackle Mathias Askew on the practice squad and released wide receiver Logan Payne from the practice squad, while signing receiver Kole Heckendorf and defensive tackle Jervonte Jackson to the practice squad.
