(Sports Network) - Top seeds Flavia Pennetta and Agnieszka Radwanska were among Friday's quarterfinal winners at the Generali Ladies Linz tennis event.
Pennetta continued her fine season with a 7-5, 6-2 handling of Romanian Ioana Raluca Olaru, while Radwanska is one victory away from reaching a second final in two weeks with a 6-3, 7-6 (11-9) victory over seventh-seeded Czech Lucie Safarova on the indoor hardcourts at Linz' Intersport Arena. Safarova beat Radwanska's younger sister Urszula here on Thursday.
Agnieszka Radwanska was last week's Beijing runner-up to French Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova.
In Friday's other quarters, third-seeded rising Belgian Yanina Wickmayer bested eighth-seeded Italian Sara Errani 7-5, 6-3 and unseeded Czech Petra Kvitova upset fourth-seeded Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro 7-5, 6-4.
Saturday's semifinals will feature three of this week's top-three seeds and one non-seed, as the No. 1 seed Pennetta will face the surprise U.S. Open semifinalist Wickmayer and a second-seeded Radwanska will encounter Kvitova.
The winner of this $220,000 tournament will earn $37,000.
