(Sports Network) - Dustin Brown and Jarret Stoll each scored twice to power the Kings to a 5-3 win over the Phoenix Coyotes.

Wayne Simmonds had the eventual game-winner in the third period for Los Angeles, which won its third consecutive game. Jonathan Quick made 30 saves in the victory.

"We've got a game at home tomorrow (Columbus) and we know how tough back-to- back games are," said Stoll. "We got ourselves off on the right foot tonight and played pretty well. There were some times there where we were back on our heels, just trying to weather the storm. Quick had some big saves for us."

Shane Doan scored twice and Radim Vrbata added a goal for the Coyotes, who had their four-game winning streak snapped. Ilya Bryzgalov made 16 saves in defeat.

"It comes down if you want to win consistently in this league you can't have mental mistakes," said Coyotes coach Dave Tippett. "It just decreases your percentages of winning."

Stoll moved the Kings to a 3-2 lead at 2:16 of the third period. Scott Parse sent a right circle pass to the front for Stoll's second goal of the season.

Simmonds then put in a rebound at 9:12, but Doan's marker with 7 1/2 minutes left had the Coyotes knocking on the door.

Phoenix pulled Bryzgalov from net, but the Coyotes were whistled for too many men on the ice with 63 seconds remaining. Despite this, the Coyotes attacked the LA net and nearly came up with the equalizer until Brown put the puck into an empty net in the final second.

Doan scored midway through the first period on the power play, but Brown netted one with the man-advantage at 4:41 of the second.

LA went ahead 2-1 on Stoll's power-play goal at 14:24 of the middle stanza, but Vrbata's goal just 78 seconds later tied the game.
