ROCKVILLE - A Rockville homeowner can't go back into his house after a car crashed into it.

Shortly after 5 p.m. a car was traveling northbound on Parkvale Road when it left the road near Greenspan and traveled across two yards before hitting a carport and crashing into the house at 14202 Parkvale Rd.

The homeowner, Douglas Asergeant, says inside the house he heard a bump and the house shook a little. Then, when he explored where the noise came from, he saw a Mazda in his basement with two men inside. He says the injured driver climbed over the car and staggered into the yard.

The driver, 28-year-old John Michael Rhodes, of Rockville, Maryland, has non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

The passenger, Harry Leslie King, 19-year-old male of the 1100 block of Schaffer Road in Frederick, Maryland, was not injured.

Authorities aren't sure what caused the accident and worked on the scene all day. They spent the night cleaning up.

The house is still structurally okay.

I am a personal friend of the driver, John Rhodes.  You reported he had non life threatening injuries.  He was taken to Shock Trauma Hospital in MD.  He has multiple skull fractures and his nose is longer attached to his face.  Do you consider that non life threatening?
