(Sports Network) - D.J. Augustin hit the two eventual game- winning free throws with 2.5 seconds left in double-overtime, as the Bobcats staved off a late Knicks rally to win their home opener, 102-100. Raymond Felton, who left the game late with a knee injury but returned, added 22 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Bobcats, who opened the season with a 92-59 setback at Boston on Wednesday, a night the team set a franchise-low in scoring. Gerald Wallace ended with 18 points and 15 boards, while Boris Diaw totaled 17 and 11 with six helpers. Stephen Graham donated 14 points in the win. David Lee had 17 points and 18 rebounds for the Knicks, who dropped their season opener, 115-93, on Wednesday at Miami. Nate Robinson and Al Harrington also ended with 17 points each, while Danilo Gallinari had 16. Chris Duhon chipped in 13 points and eight helpers.

Final Score: Philadelphia 99, Milwaukee 86

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Andre Iguodala scored a game-high 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out seven assists, as the Philadelphia 76ers captured their 2009-10 home-opener with a 99-86 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Elton Brand finished with 17 points, while Samuel Dalembert had a strong game with 10 points and 12 boards for the 76ers, who were coming off a season-opening 120-106 loss at Orlando on Wednesday. The win marks the first for new Philadelphia head coach Eddie Jordan, who was hired to replace interim coach Tony DiLeo in the offseason. Lou Williams and Thaddeus Young ended with 16 and 13 points, respectively, for Philadelphia. Michael Redd had 17 points for the Bucks, who were playing their season-opener after missing the playoffs for a third straight year and struggling to a 34-48 record in 2008-09. Milwaukee's first round draft pick, Brandon Jennings, had a solid effort in his NBA debut with 17 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Josh Smith poured in 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds, as the Atlanta Hawks handled the Washington Wizards (web | news) , 100-89, in a battle between these two Southeast Division foes at Philips Arena. Smith also had two blocks in the game to become the youngest player in NBA history with 900 blocks. Joe Johnson added 17 points, six assists, and five rebounds for the Hawks, who kicked off their season with a 120-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. Jamal Crawford ended with 16 points off the bench. Marvin Williams chipped in with 10 points and nine boards, while Al Horford tallied 10 points and 12 rebounds for Atlanta, which has won six in a row against Washington. Gilbert Arenas had 23 points and four assists for the Wizards, who started the season with a 102-91 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. Brendan Haywood finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. Andray Blatche had 13 points and six rebounds off the bench for Washington, which hasn't beat the Hawks since January 11, 2008.

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Eddie House and Paul Pierce each scored 22 points, pacing the Celtics to a 118-90 thrashing of the Chicago Bulls in a rematch of last year's scintillating first-round playoff series. Ray Allen scored 20, while Shelden Williams came off the bench for 10 points and 10 rebounds for Boston, which won the impressive series in seven games before losing to Orlando in the next round. With the exception of Boston's 21-point victory in Game 3 and the Celtics' 10-point victory in Game 7, every other contest had been decided by three points or less with four of them going to overtime. The teams played a total of seven extra sessions during the series, but Friday proved to be a lopsided affair with Boston hitting its field goals at an impressive 58.1 percent clip compared to 41.5 for Chicago. Kevin Garnett tallied 16 points for the Celtics, who limited the Bobcats to a franchise-low in points Wednesday in a 92-59 triumph in Boston. Rajon Rondo contributed 16 assists and eight rebounds for the Celtics, who have won their first three games of the season by an average of 22.3 points. Joakim Noah had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulls, who were coming off a 92-85 home win over the San Antonio Spurs.



Final Score: Oklahoma City 91, Detroit 83

Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Kevin Durant finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds, as the Oklahoma City Thunder downed the Pistons, 91-83, to net the franchise's first win in Detroit in nearly six years. Jeff Green added 16 points for the Thunder, whose last win in Detroit came on December 12, 2003, when the franchise was located in Seattle. Nenad Krstic scored 14, while Russell Westbrook had 10 points and 10 assists for Oklahoma City, which opened its season Wednesday with a win over Sacramento. Ben Gordon had a team-high 25 points, along with seven rebounds and four assists in his home debut for Detroit, which won at Memphis on Wednesday in its first game of the season. Rodney Stuckey ended with 21 points for the Pistons, who were without Richard Hamilton because of his sprained right ankle. Ben Wallace totaled 12 boards, three assists and three steals in the setback for Detroit.



Final Score: Miami 96, Indiana 83

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Dwyane Wade finished with 32 points and Jermaine O'Neal recorded a double-double, as the Miami Heat took a 96-83 victory over the Indiana Pacers, a rare win at Conseco Fieldhouse. O'Neal ended with 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Heat, who had lost 14 in a row in Indianapolis, and whose last win there came on December 31, 2001. Udonis Haslem had 10 points and 10 boards off the bench, while Michael Beasley finished with 12 points and nine rebounds for Miami, which beat the Knicks on Wednesday in its home-opener. Danny Granger scored 22 for Indiana in its home-opener, but the Pacers are still in search of their first win of the season, having lost to Atlanta on Wednesday.



Final Score: Memphis 115, Toronto 107

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Zach Randolph finished with a team-high 30 points and grabbed seven rebounds, as the Memphis Grizzlies got by the Toronto Raptors, 115-107, at FedEx Forum. Marc Gasol had 19 points to go along with seven boards, while O.J. Mayo ended with 18 points and six rebounds for Memphis, which dropped its season-opener 96-74 to Detroit on Wednesday. Rudy Gay turned in a solid effort with 17 points and nine rebounds, and Mike Conley chipped in with 10 points, 10 assists and six boards in the win. Chris Bosh led all scorers with 37 points and added a game-high 12 rebounds for the Raptors, who earned a 101-91 home victory against Cleveland on Wednesday. Jose Calderon and Hedo Turkoglu went for 15 and 14 points, respectively, in defeat.



Final Score: Cleveland 104, Minnesota 87

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - LeBron James scored 24 points, hauled in nine rebounds and doled out six assists to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first win of the season, a 104-87 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center. Mo Williams tallied 20 points and six helpers for the Cavs, who moved to 1-2 on the young season. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 15 points and Daniel Gibson 14 in the win. Anderson Varejao chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Shaquille O'Neal had seven rebounds, six points and three blocks. Jonny Flynn gave 17 points for Minnesota, which fell to 1-1 on the year. Al Jefferson offered 12 points and eight boards, while Corey Brewer scored 11 points.



Final Score: Orlando 95, New Jersey 85

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Dwight Howard poured in 20 points, pulled down 22 rebounds, and blocked four shots, as the Orlando Magic took down the New Jersey Nets, 95-85, at the Izod Center. The story of the night was Vince Carter making his return to New Jersey, where he spent four-plus seasons before coming to Orlando in a trade during the offseason, but he left the game early. Carter tallied 16 points and four assists before spraining his left ankle late in the second quarter. The North Carolina product was driving to the lane when he stepped on ex-teammate Devin Harris' foot, rolling his ankle in the process. Carter went to the ground immediately and reached for his left ankle. He was assisted to the locker room before halftime and didn't return to the game. Ryan Anderson, who also came to Orlando in the Carter trade, tallied 16 points for the Magic, who blitzed Philadelphia, 120-106, on Wednesday. Brandon Bass and J.J. Redick had 13 and 12 points, respectively, off the bench for the victors. Courtney Lee had 18 points for the Nets, who lost 95-93 to the Timberwolves on Wednesday.



Final Score: New Orleans 97, Sacramento 92

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Emeka Okafor accounted for the go-ahead basket with a putback slam and then blocked Kevin Martin's three-point attempt in the waning seconds as the Hornets won their home-opener, 97-92, over the Sacramento Kings. Chris Paul totaled 31 points, went 14-of-15 from the foul line, and sank four free throws in the closing 5.9 seconds for New Orleans, which was coming off a 113-96 loss at San Antonio Wednesday. Okafor tallied 11 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. Rookie Tyreke Evans had 22 points and Martin scored 20 for the Kings, who lost, 102-89, at Oklahoma City, on Wednesday. Andres Nocioni ended with 16 points.



Final Score: Utah 111, LA Clippers 98

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Paul Millsap scored 14 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, as the Utah Jazz continued their home dominance against the Los Angeles Clippers with a 111-98 victory at EnergySolutions Arena. The Jazz have won 13 straight and 39 of the last 40 against the Clippers in Salt Lake City. Los Angeles' last win at Utah was a 96-89 triumph on Jan. 22, 2003. Carlos Boozer had 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for Utah, which lost, 114-105, to Denver on Wednesday. Deron Williams added 21 points and nine assists. Ronnie Brewer ended with 17 points and five rebounds for the victors. Eric Gordon paced the Clippers with 22 points. Chris Kaman and Baron Davis each had 21 points and four rebounds for Los Angeles, which lost to the Suns and Lakers to begin the season. Al Thornton had 12 points in defeat.
