I have known the Marsh's for years... They are good people... They have obviously been caught doing something illegal, and it will be haunting them for the rest of their lives... From what I understand, there was never an intent to sell, and from personal experiene, I know Lenny had never tried to sell anything to me...And...Lenny knows I am a big fan of the Grateful Dead... DeadHeads being notorious drug users, I would suspect, had he been looking to sell, I would have been a logical person to approach...

From what I have read and heard, it appears that the police received a tip on what was ahppening at the MArsh residence. That is what I am interested in... What did the MArsh's do to have someone hate them enough to call the police and tell them about what was happening in their home...

I wish both Ginny and Lenny the best... I am really saddened that one of the best educators and men I have ever known has been ruined... The MArsh's will lose because of this happening, but the real losers, are the kids who would have benefited from knowing him!

he was an assistant principle. if he caught children with pot in school what would he have done. he is a public official who was in charge of children. what he does in the privacy of his home is his business. but if this is true and he only had in his home??? how did he get caught? what about his students who had him? it is sad very sad

to pebs this is your aunt and uncle. I wish them both the best. but now your uncle will not have a job and will not be able to apply to any other schools. will he be able to find another job? I am not sure about pot and driving. I had seen kids in the 70' who smoked pot and drove. three of my high school classmates were smoking and driving and are dead. they did not have the opportunity to graduate. i feel pot is ok for medicinal purposes and maybe in the privacy of a home but not in public and as a school official he should have known better. does anyone know how he was caught?

guesswhat,

You are absolutely correct. Well said!

I agree that growing and smoking a little bud is no big deal, but selling it and driving on it _is_. Tokers take the risk that it's still illegal, even though alcoholism is a widespread and accepted disease which causes much more social and economic damage. Life ain't fair and smart people do dumb stuff.

Maybe I'm out of it but I do care even if they weren't selling it. All of the parents who I've learned of who smoke pot have kids with serious, I mean serious problems. Look what happened to Michael Kennedy. For one, its against the law and if you blatantly violate the law that says a lot about a person right there, then on top of that you are teaching your children that certain laws can be broken if you disagree with them, and on top of that you are leading your children into a life of drugs which are extremely harmful and addiction causes misery in people's lives. Also, they have found that pot causes mental illnesses to set in AND lung disease. Unless it was medical marijuanna there is no reason to break the law just for recreational purposes.

Well said, Pebs. Alcohol is a far greater danger to society thank weed and yet it's legal. This couple wasn't harming anyone and were victims of a phony "drug war", which is just a ploy for law enforcement agencies to raise money. The war continues because average joe citizen can't think for him/herself and is brainwashed by anti-drug propoganda. I'm not saying that pot has no negative consequences, but it's hypocritical of a society to allow alcohol and tobacco but not marijuana.

Jinny and Lenny are my aunt and uncle and are wonderful people. Nothing was being grown to sell. It's a defamation of character to accuse them of intent to deal drugs. There is no proof of that but it sure does make a good news story! Marijuana is a way of relaxing, just like having a glass of wine. Alcohol is far more detrimental to society than marijuana is but it's legal. We tell our kids not to do drugs, but drinking's okay. Is alcohol not a drug? I'd rather my kids smoke pot than drink any day. I've never heard of a stoned driving accident. Alcohol's legal and so should be marijuana. If you disagree you're an ignorant hypocrite. If you do agree than give my aunt and uncle a break. They're upstanding citizens who were doing what they did in the privacy of their own home.

She looks stoned in her picture if you ask me! LOL

EGod -

It's still a criminal act. I wonder what kinds of posts would be here if it were Marion Barry.

OMGSH!!! he was my 8th grade science teacher!!! thats so crazy lol.

EGod
Well if he was no selling it then who cares. Half of the parents smoke the stuff.

Yop
It says nowhere that they are suspected of selling pot. If they had a growing operation for private consumption, then BIG DEAL.

So sad, I knew a lot of neighborhood kids who went to this elementary school. Stupid decisions ruin your life. He'll never be in a school again....hope he wasn't too close to retirement...

Eboy
Dude! She looks like woman from Laverne and Shirley. Well . . . sort of.
