I strongly disagree that 9500 Liberty's view is bias. I believe that their view is the view of most people of color in Prince William County, Virginia. The police department as well as the commonwealth attorneys office has a long history of racial bias. It has a history of pursuing aggressively its people of color just on the word of a white person. Even when there is no evidence to support a wrong doing on the part of the person of color. Prince William County will though allow a police officer to commit perjury in regard to the sexual assault of two African-American girls by a white male who never got arrested even with medical documentation to support their allegations. Prince William county, under Deane and Ebert allowed the death of two African-American boys because their lives were not valued. Some of you might remember Donnell Robinson a victim of what many consider to be a racist regime. I applaud 9500 Liberty for choosing to shine a light on a government/county that for far too long has gotten away with treating its people of color with less respect and concern than its white residents.

"9500 Liberty" is an incredibly biased project, and has been subject to some well-earned criticism about its prejudices and how it chooses to edit material before it is posted, as well as the decision by Eric Byler to "moderate" comments -- ie, refuse to post comments that are not sympathetic or congratulatory under the guise that they are filtering out "racist" comments. I know several posters who have left comments that in no way could be construed as "racist" but point out the obvious biases of Eric et al -- including their decision to not post the inflammatory comments of the speaker who told the supervisors to "kiss my a**" when it became obvious her side wasn't going to win.

"9500 Liberty" is "documentary" only in the same vein and tenure as Michael Moore produces "documentaries". It is biased, slanted and is being used as a soapbox to advance their viewpoint and agenda. I don't call such work a "documentary" but rather label it what it truly is: propaganda and shameless self-promotion. I am sure Eric et al are hoping to earn greater infamy and dollars with their "project" ala Michael Moore.

The sad part is, had "9500 Liberty" truly been a two-sided, balanced look at the issue, it would have been great.

It is increasingly frustrating to speak with customer service people who do not speak English well enough to adequately do their jobs. It is also frustrating seeing the attitude of some that I as an American should go out and learn Spanish in order to somehow "keep up" with the fast paced change in society. It should be incumbent upon those who immigrate to this great nation to learn its' language. PLEASE LEARN ENGLISH!

Leon, how about we look at the real issue here. What does the federal law say about being in this country illegally? Then we move on to the issue of what federal law allows them to stay here for free. Yeah they work, but they leave thier kids home alone to raise themselves. They drink till they are drunk, drive drunk, urinate and deficate where they want (if you don't belive me just check out the areas in which the congregate at night). They take jobs that we could be giving to those on welfare, crowd our school system with children that don't want to learn and slow down the teaching process for those that do. Our hospitals are closing or loosing money at an extremely fast rate because they use them for free medical services like snotty noses. The overcrowd our streets when 10-15 adults live in the same house and park all of there vehicles on the street( again, go out at night and look at these neighborhoods). The more people I talk to, the more I get the feeling we are headed for another civil war in this country as tesions are starting to run very high over this issue. I am afraid folks will start taking the law into there own hands. Lets look at the real issues here. ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL.....

Love your work Leon, but it seems this report may not be "broad" enough. This immigration debate has this Country in an uproar, and rightfully so. Based on the piece it seems that viewers may get 45-90 degrees of the whole picture, when anything less than 100 probably won't fly. If anyone is going to present these cases, they have to give a complete 360 view of what's going on and let viewers decide. What I have found striking is you have people in the Transportation sector of our City being made on a "trial" bases to learn Spanish. How about making those people learn English?! No one is asking anyone to forego their native dialect, but this is America and English is our first language, and for some it's ONLY language. I've spoken with individuals of the Latino community, and when I've asked the question about being illegal, I get the same response "but we're not criminals". It's as if they equate not being a criminal makes it ok to be here illegally. And yes this is the response I get EVERYTIME. I know what they're drawing comparisons to (look at the nightly News), but it's Apples and Oranges. If anyone really wants an answer, look no further than 1600 Penn Ave. NW. There's good and bad in all of us, but a Country that does not uphold it's laws, is a Country that's flirting with Chaos. And in my opinion we're headed there on a record pace. Enjoyed your work in ATL, and loving it more here. Keep up the good work!

Illegal immigration will be a killer issue as Hillary found out the other night. I see it as a clear choice. Either you're part if the problem like Arlington, where all-Democratic Commissioners support an "inclusive" sanctuary for all immigrants regardless of legality, or you're part of the solution like Prince William, where they recognize that responsible government has a duty to assist its federal partner in enforcing immigration law. Throwing up your hands like Governor Spitzer and caving to demands to doument the undocumented are unacceptable.

Watching this, if only these "3 filmmakers" are going to be featured, I have no hope whatsoever that it will be fair. That makes it a waste of time. Do you *really* think that having 3 people who are pro illegal immigration go on about how one person told them to go home is going to illuminate anyone or in any way help the situation? How about the average of 24 US citizens who die each DAY due to illegal aliens, either through violent crimes or drunk drivers, all these lives lost, their families broken? There is a case in Virginia Beach, a "sanctuary city", where a man is suing the government for not protecting us from this, his daughter is dead, killed by a drunk illegal alien with many priors who should never have been here, and he wants change. How about highlighting this case? No? You just want to talk about people who don't want to learn Spanish??

Another pro illegal alien/terrorist attempt to sway legal immigrants and unAmerican individuals into allowing more and more terrorists into the country by the use of the press and media. This kind of reporting goes beyond any First Amendment right or responsibility and is nothing more than seditious spouting of propaganda aimed at eroding the Constitution and subjugating the country to mob rule.

Leon, So far ABC 7 has been pretty fair on this issue but I have to comment that this first film and who is filming it seems one sided in that it's projecting how the mean Americans are talking down to the poor Illegal's . To be fair how about showing some clips from Numbers USA? We're Watching !

Illegal's make me sick.. I hope I see the day when our government grows some walnuts and kicks them to the Atlantic and Pacific. I sure will remember not to vote for Leggett or O"Malley come election time. They are welcoming them here with open arms. I say let these two politicans pay for their keep ..I bet if it was coming out of their bank accounts they'd sing a new song on the illegals here.

Leon, I hope you plan to differentiate in your series between LEGAL immigrants, which most Americans have no problem with, and ILLEGAL immigrants, which most Americans DO have a problem with. Explain to your readers/viewers how it is that 12 million or more people from all sorts of different countries, can come to the United States illegally, breaking our laws with impunity, and yet not be arrested or incarcerated or fined or deported or ANYTHING. Why are they allowed to have social security numbers, and if they don't have social security numbers, why are they allowed to work? Why are they allowed drivers' licenses, and if they aren't allowed to have drivers' licenses, why are they allowed to drive? Why are they allowed to send their children to schools paid for by taxpayers when, if they don't have social security numbers, they don't pay taxes?
