Shovelhead - you are funny dude. Thanks for that.
This statement is incorrect.
I have a vault with several boxes of ammunition......not one single bullet has done a thing on its own yet.
I also have a magazine in my pistol that holds 8 rounds of ammunition. They have never moved, and I've been watching.
Guns and ammunition are tools, they are inanimate objects.................. It takes a person to pick up the weapon, load it with ammunition, point it at something, and pull the trigger.....Guns don't "Go Off" on their own, and bullets don't "fly" without human interaction.
Actually, you went one step too far. They don't need to outlaw the gasoline - by itself, pouring it on someone alone isn't a fatal threat so they only need to outlaw the lighter (or matches)
Remember - guns don/t kill people, bullets kill people.
>>>and I was packing..
So you were emulating the drug dealers and car-jackers? Taking your weapons into some one else's town with the intention of using them on others if you choose? That's your role model?
Nice.
Spareme - Thanks for the info about the bouncers and security - since the security guys or bouncers didn't grap the arsonist after he set the bartender on fire, I had mistakenly assumed they weren't there. sorry.
I sure hope the bartender can recover from this and go on with his life.
Let me try it this way While I have not been physically affected or impacted by any particular crime in my 20 years, I am intellectually and emotionally affected by any violent crime.
While I enjoy reading the exchange of ideas and comments on this and other such forums, I will also admit that I get tired of people who live in the allegedly safe suburbs consistently bashing all of DC with generalizations over any negative news item and making statements that suggest the entire city as being awful and worthy only of being wiped off the map.
Even with marathons, rallies or protest marchs and in spite of some crime, I love living here.
I know it isn?t perfect but what place is?
CONUNDRUM: I agree. This, along with JP's across the street from Good Guys, is one of the few clean strip clubs (go figure) in the area. It is mostly caucasian patrons and dancers.
WOWZER: They have good bouncers and plenty of security (big dudes too). They even walk the ladies to their cars at the end of the night.
PRETTYBOY: You can't bash DC. I am a native and I refuse to be run out of my hometown!! This world is what is going downhill and fast!!!
You can go in, have drinks and unlike other clubs, not be fearful of the bumpy women on stage or the pervs sitting in the corners pleasuring themselves. I am suprised the entire club didn't burn down because it isn't that big. I hope the bartender is ok, just trying to make a days pay can turn deadly at any minutes.
One must think did all the media coverage of the young lady that got burn up by her crazy ex-boyfriend/ex-husband have anything to do with this nut getting the idea in his head?
I've lived in DC for over 20 years and have yet to witness a single crime or be affected personally by any crime incident. And no, I'm not in some rich gated enclave. Just a typical street.
My life experience here tells me that I must respectfully disagree with Olizion - I have to wonder if you ever even visit DC neighborhoods or just base your opinions on hyped news crime stories and real estate lisitngs?
I can't see how this has caused or contributed to any deterioration in Georgetown....especially since it is more so in the Burleith/Glover Park neighborhoods being so far north of the Georgetown business areas.
You think! Sounds more like attempted murder and should carry the same consequences as if had succeeded in his attempt.
A lesson to learn - don't mess with horny drunks unless you have backup and defenses.
