What was the big deal of the nooses that were hung in trees at Jena High School? a symbol of hatred is a symbol of hatred, no matter who it is aimed at. This student obviously needs help.

xman .. to some people such as Jews and blacks .. the swastika has more than an ancient "religious" emblematic meaning .. it is a sign of hatred ....I've met, been friends with .. and even in my youth, dated holocaust survivors .. and believe me .. the swastika mean hatred ...and I don't think too many many European theatre vetreans from the second world war .. would agree with blaise feelings about the "crooked cross" ..

As I previously posted to the previous article: I agree with SusanMarie2. Other than possibly some property damage, what is the big deal? The swastika is simply a geometrical design going back to biblical times. College students are well known for doing stunts and dumb stuff. It is all part of growing up. We are not talking WMDs (found any yet??). I recall reading an article where an elementary student was expelled for drawing a handgun in his notebook. Gee imagine that. Again we are not talking WMDs. This is not the country I grew up in. Makes me think of the billboards in Calif. proclaiming "Even Communists are Free to Smoke". This country is turning into a legislative police state. Where is the Freedom?

College kids do dumb stuff. They always have and always will. There usually is no underlying reason, no harm to others intended, just goofing-off for the most part. Anyone remember your college days and the pranks that went on? News stories and people?s responses are overstated and exaggerated to the point of mass hysteria. Now where are those WMDs, after invading a sovereign country, killing 10s if not 100s of thousands and bringing down a recognized government? - Don?t forget to vote today!

GWU is now the most expensive school in the country. $54 thousand for tuition, room, and board. The parents need to cut her off. Maybe she had a troubled childhood. Spend a month in rehab.

Yes as per fox this Jewish student is the one that made the reports. She also drew numerous swastikas after the first one was removed...that she drew. They should file all possible charges on this nut. If she wanted attention all she had to do was ask. Since she likes drawing swastikas they should draw one on her forehead.

Is self-hatred a crime?

This student is clearly an immature kid doing this kind of stuff to her own door but is it a hate crime to put a swastika on one's own door?

It is probably a crime for filing a false police report, if she did report it to the police, and destroying university property.
