City see spike in bicycle thefts, will be the next headline.

What will our poor parking enforcement Nazis do? I know they'll be out on Veteran's Day (national holiday) fining people for parking on their own streets.

Wowzer
"Bicycle idiots" is not an issue that ranks up there with shooting innocent bystanders but it is really an annoying nuisance when driving around town.

I hope the city council will revise this legislation to require some responsiblity from the cyclists. They should have to obey the laws for operating a vehicle on the city streets since they are in fact operating a vehicle on the city streets.

Not the way people around here drive (Metro and commuters AND the bicyclists)! No way Jose. They'll need separated bike lanes....

conundrum
Responsible bicyclists are fine but most are not. They go the wrong way on one way streets nearly hitting cars head on, they run red lights and stop signs sneering at the drivers they cut off. It goes on and on.

Too many of them are a public menace. I could support some such legislation if bikes were required to have license plates, the riders to have licenses AND the police charged with requiring them to honor the laws and rules of the road.

Mr Wells disappoints me with this.

This is ridiculous. What about aggressive bike riders? I call my council person, and its "Sorry, nothing we can do." It's not just hypothetical. Yesterday, I saw a bike rider run over and break a blind man's walking stick.
