posted 9:48 pm Wed November 07, 2007 - Washington
The D.C. Harbor Patrol put out a fire Wednesday night aboard the "Capital Elite" dinner cruise boat.
It happened around 8 p.m. in the gully of the ship while it was cruising the Washington Harbor. D.C. Fire spokesperson Alan Etter said the captain pulled the boat to shore in the 600 block of Water Street SW where everyone evacuated onto the pier.
Firefighters boarded the boat and put the flames out.
Etter said a hot plate appeared to start the blaze. No one was hurt.
