An Oxon Hill man is expected in Prince George's County Court Wednesday in Upper Marlboro for a bond hearing.
Maryland State Police filed additional charges against 39-year-old Kamara Mohamed Tuesday. He is accused of assaulting a Maryland State trooper who was guarding him at a hospital.
Kamara was charged with attempted first-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, use of a handgun in commission of a felony, reckless endangerment, disarming a law enforcement officer, wearing/carrying a handgun, second-degree escape and theft over $500.

Mohamed was jailed Tuesday in Prince George's County Detention Center without bond.
The new charges are in addition to those filed against Mohamed when he was arrested by State Police on Monday during a vehicle theft investigation. Mohamed was captured around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday inside a sales trailer for a community along the 8100 block of Contee Road. Officers used a taser to subdue him after he failed to surrender to Maryland State Troopers.
Shortly after 3:00 a.m. Tuesday, Mohamed was being treated at the Greater Laurel Regional Hospital in Laurel, where he had been taken after complaining of chest pains while under arrest at the College Park Barracks.
According to Maryland State Police, Mohamed got into an altercation with a female trooper and he was able to gain control of the trooper's weapon. Mohamed fire off several shots before fleeing the hospital.
The trooper was not hurt and no one was hit by any of the bullets. Police are still searching for the weapon.
Investigators say a citizen saw Mohamed entering a sales trailer in a community on Contee Road east of Route-1 around 8:30 a.m. and called police.
On Tuesday, Maryland State Police recovered four vehicles, which were towed to the State Police College Park Barracks for forensic processing.
The state trooper assaulted by Mohamed was released from the hospital Tuesday after sustaining numerous abrasions and contusions and is on leave while recuperating. The investigation is ongoing.
