I'm sure the Supreme Court justices are very carefully considering this issue because the outcome will have far reaching ramifications. Their decision(s) will impact future decisions involving gun issues across the United States. DC is just a small speck in the "big picture".

I am not a gun fan, myself, but I realize some people like to hunt, have target practice, or feel that having a gun makes them safer. Now, that being said - DC or anywhere else can have all the gun control laws they want; but until criminals are taken off the streets and KEPT off the streets, the crime rates won't go anywhere but up. If someone commits a crime while using a gun, they should, if the situation warrants, be executed or otherwise kept in jail forever. But as long as society keeps wringing its hands saying "how did WE fail these people," as long as the bad guys keep going free, ain't nuthin' gonna change.

The criminals have guns. It's about time that the citizens be afforded a legal right to protect themselves.

No doubt - the police obviously can't protect the citizen's and the DC Supreme Court has rulled that they're not obligated to as well (D.C. 444 A. 2d 1).

DC' gun ban is unconstitutional. Strike down the DC gun ban. Arm the citizens and increase public safety.
