The federal jury deliberating the fate of former Prince George's County schools CEO Andre Hornsby will reconvene Monday morning, despite telling the judge it cannot reach a verdict.
U.S. District Judge Peter Messitte sent the jury home for a long Thanksgiving weekend on Tuesday, hours after he received a note in which jurors said they were "firm" in their positions. They also asked for a definition of reasonable doubt. The judge instructed jurors not to abandon strongly held views, but to continue deliberating to try to reach a unanimous verdict.

Tuesday was the fourth day of deliberations.
Messitte said there would be no further guidance about the meaning of reasonable doubt.
Hornsby is charged with steering a schools contract worth about $1 million to an educational technology firm where his then-girlfriend worked. Federal prosecutors allege that Hornsby and the girlfriend then split the $20,000 commission she received.
The jury will continue their deliberations on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
