D.C. Lauds Supreme Court Decision to Hear Gun Ban Case
   posted 4:39 pm Tue November 20, 2007 - Washington
D.C. officials say they're pleased that the Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether the city's handgun ban is constitutional. The city's 31-year ban on handgun ownership was struck down by a federal appeals court on the grounds that it was incompatible with the Second Amendment. The man who challenged the handgun ban also asked for the high court review.

Fenty calls it the most important court case the District of Columbia has been involved in and possibly the most important decision a city or state has been involved in for decades.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?Assistant police chief Alfred Durham says 80 percent homicides in the district this year have been committed with firearms. He says the way the Supreme Court rules in this case is literally a matter of life and death.

The only reason to exclude an entire population from a Constitutional right would be that the population in question is too mentally incompetent to exercise that right in a responsible fashion.

Apparently, the PTB decided that DC residents are too dumb and/or nuts to handle a handgun.
