Two teen boys were shot late Wednesday night on North Capitol Street and New York Avenue.

Police said one of the victims, a 13-year-old teen, was shot in the left-side of his body, critically injuring him. Another 13-year-old teen was shot in the hand, but was treated and released.. Eye-witnesses said the boys ran onto a Metro bus for safety after the incident. The shooting happened in a near-by playground, according to witnesses.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?A person on the bus said one of the boys laid on the bus floor, yelling hysterically. The bus driver called 911 for help.

It's not clear who the shooter was or what prompted the shooting.

Well I am not in favor of children packing firearms but with adults who have all their marbles.... A BIG FAT YES! I wouldn't dare go off to DC without having one on me. If I am arrested I don't care.. at least if a sleezeball attacks me I will be alive to tell the tale and I wouldn't hesitate or take a second breath blowing an attacker away.
