Twenty-seven-year-old Jeremy Brader was killed in a hit & run accident in Centreville.

Fairfax County police were responding to a call of a person lying in the roadway along the 7,000-block of Ordway Road, near the intersection of Compton Road around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Once on scene, officers discovered Brader's body and concluded he had been struck by a vehicle which had left the scene.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?"Its completely dark down there," explained Centreville Resident Kim Lefcowitz. "There's woods and turns, it is horrible."

Brader, from Herndon, was dressed in all black and there was no crosswalk or street lights in the area.

Detectives continue to seek information on this fatal hit & run and are asking anyone who might have seen the accident to call the Fairfax County Police at 1-866-411-TIPS(8477) or 703-691-2131.

Last year Fairfax County introduced a $10 million pedestrian safety program after 17 people were killed while walking along area roadways.

People keep talking about how dark it is there, how he was wearing all black, etc. And these are all good points. These things do need to be addressed. But I am much more astonished at how someone can hit another human being and just leave him there. It happens all the time anymore, and it just baffles me. Why aren't more people talking about that fact?
