New to the area yuppies that can not carry guns, and most likey would not even if they could, mixed with the thugs of Euclid Street, Girard Street and Fairmont Street make this a muggers paradise. Not to memtion how many robberys happen on the illegal population in the area that will not report the crimes to th cops. Where is Charles Bronsen when you need him!!!

There are no handguns in DC.

They passed a law making private possession illegal waaaay back in 1976.

These delusional people MUST be mistaken.

Before I get to my feelings about these crimes, maybe people should be warned if they are carrying their wallets, leave your personal information at home, and put but a few bucks in your pockets for robbers. It is oh so frustrating to have to replace your license, SS cards, credit cards, etc. If you have store credit cards, leave them at home. If you have multiple credit cards, try to carry the one with the much smaller available credit, or one that caps off at $300 per day in case you are forced to go to an ATM machine. Carry $20 or $30, at least they will be getting something and it may save you. Having your home burglarized and to be robbed and stripped of what you have is beyond feeling expression, just knowing someone has that type of control and gall to invade your space and privacy. The most worrisome is if they have your address and license -- identity theft. Let the creditors know asap; robbers will more than likely use credit cards that you may not have to produce an ID -- like gas, in the gas stations where they can purchase cartons of cigarettes as well; places where you have to swipe your card. If you keep the pin number in your wallet -- there goes the money. After 24 hours or less they are through using and toss.

Maybe it's just me, but this "all hands on deck" doesn't appear to be working as intended. There should be enough police car, walking, bike, and horse presence in the neighborhoods which reported violence -- car thefts, assaults and robberies.
