Praisner Improving

Montgomery County Council President Marilyn Praisner could soon be out of the intensive care unit as she recovers from injuries suffered in a pair of car accidents.
Council spokesman Neil Greenberger said Praisner is recovering from a collapsed lung and bruises. But doctors want to conduct further tests to determine if anything medically led to the back-to-back accidents near her Burtonsville home as she was on her way to a morning meeting on November 16th. The 65-year-old doesn't expect to return to work until after January first.
Praisner's one-year term as council president expires early next month. Council member Michael Knapp is expected to be elected by his colleagues to take over the post.
