- (Sports Network) - Kansas City Chiefs running back Kolby Smith is likely lost for the season after suffering what was termed a right knee sprain during Sunday's 30-27 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The second-year player went down during a drive in the middle of the second quarter. He was helped to the sideline, where trainers tended to the injury, and he was later taken off the field.
To that point, Smith had rushed 10 times for 46 yards and one score. Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said after the game Smith would be out the rest of the year.

Smith was part of a two-pronged running attack, with rookie Jamaal Charles, playing in place of Larry Johnson, who was deactivated by the Chiefs because of off-the-field issues.
