Upper Marlboro, Md. - Prince George's County is now facing a larger potential budget shortfall.
The Prince George's County Council learned Wednesday that the budget gap that was estimated at $56 million is now about $73 million.
County budget director Jonathan Seeman told council members that the tax revenue from home sales is still falling, making the county's financial situation worse.
The county is requiring employees to take two weeks of unpaid leave by mid-June to reduce the shortfall.
Seeman says county leaders are looking at ways to address the new shortfall.
