Washington - ony Parker will miss four weeks after an MRI confirmed that the Spurs' star guard has a grade 2 left ankle sprain. Parker was injured during a 99-83 loss to the Miami Heat on Friday, two nights after scoring a career-high 55 points against the Timberwolves. He was driving for a layup when he rolled his ankle.
The 26-year-old Parker was using crutches and wearing a protective boot while watching practice Sunday. He was second in the league in scoring behind LeBron James at 27.4 points per game.
The Spurs are 1-4 and off to their worst start since going 1-5 in 1996. They play Tuesday at home against the New York Knicks.

Parker will be replaced in the lineup by either rookie George Hill or 12th-year veteran Jacques Vaughan. Hill took Parker's place after the injury.
The Spurs are also missing Manu Ginobili, who is expected to be out until sometime in December. Ginobili hasn't played this season after surgery on his left ankle, but he participated in cutting and shooting drills on Sunday.
The 33-year-old Vaughan was inactive against the Heat, though no injury was listed. He dressed but did not play Wednesday at Minnesota. He averaged 10 minutes in the Spurs' first four games this season.
Hill has played 35 minutes as a pro. The 26th overall selection out of Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis played 10 minutes after Parker left Friday, missing all three of his shots from the floor. He scored one point and added an assist and a turnover.
