- (Sports Network) - San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is expected to be out approximately four weeks with a sprained left ankle.
An MRI revealed a grade two ankle sprain, according to the San Antonio Express News.
Parker suffered the injury in the first quarter of Friday's 99-83 loss to the Miami Heat. He drove to the hoop for a bucket and rolled his ankle upon landing with 2:06 left in the quarter. He immediately grabbed for the ankle and was off to the locker room, where x-rays were negative.

Parker had a career night in leading the Spurs to their first win of the season on Wednesday in a thrilling double-overtime victory, 129-125, against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The seventh-year pro dropped a career-high 55 points, including nine in the second overtime, on 22-of-36 shots from the floor and dished out 10 assists while bringing down seven rebounds.
The native of France is averaging 27.4 points, thanks in part to Wednesday's performance, and 5.8 assists this season.
George Hill and Jacque Vaughn are expected to take over the point guard duties in Parker's absence.
