DAYTON, Ohio - A community college in Ohio says the names and Social Security numbers of almost 1,000 employees were inadvertently left open to public view on the Internet for about a year. However, Sinclair Community College in Dayton says it has received no reports of identity theft. Sinclair officials said Monday that a spreadsheet with information on people who worked at the school in 2000 and 2001 was placed in a computer folder by an employee.

Sinclair President Steven Lee Johnson says the employee didn't realize the folder could be viewed on the Internet.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion? Another Sinclair employee found the file last week while doing a Web search.

The college immediately removed the file and Johnson says there's no reason to believe anyone else accessed the information.
