- (Sports Network) - Utah Jazz guard Deron Williams missed Friday's game against the Charlotte Bobcats with a left ankle injury that sidelined him for the team's first six games.
Williams played in the previous two games, but Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan held him out of Friday's game, as the injury affected his play.
The third-year guard out of Illinois averaged 7.5 points and eight assists in his two games, far off last season's averages of 18.8 points and 10.5 assists.

Forward Andrei Kirilenko also missed the game with a sprained right index finger, and center Mehmet Okur is out for the third straight game to be with his ailing father in Turkey.
