(Sports Network) - Stephen Curry dropped 34 points, and the Davidson Wildcats routed the James Madison Dukes, 99-64, in opening round play of the NIT Season Tip-Off.
The Wildcats (2-0), which started their season with a 107-83 decision over Guilford on Friday, will next play either Mississippi Valley State or Oklahoma in the second round, as those two teams are scheduled to tip-off later Monday.
Curry, who posted 29 points and 10 assists with nine steals against Guilford, narrowly missing a triple-double, was 14-of-17 from the floor including 5-of-6 from three-point range.

Bryant Barr logged 17 points and Stephen Rossiter 14 for Davidson, which made a run all the way to the Sweet 16 before falling to eventual NCAA Champion Kansas last season. Brendan McKillop had 10 points off the bench.
The Wildcats shot an impressive 68.4 percent (39-for-57) from the floor.
Julius Wells led the way with 16 points, while Kyle Swanston netted 14 for James Madison (0-1), which improved from seven wins in 2006-07 to 13 wins in '07-'08. The Dukes have not had a winning season since 1999-2000.
Juwann James had eight points and nine rebounds in the loss.
Davidson jumped out to a 25-7 lead in the early going and held a 20-point lead at halftime, 50-30, and never trailed by more than 18 in the second half on its way to victory.

Davidson won its only previous meeting with James Madison back in 1997...Rossiter hit on all seven of his field goal attempts, while Barr was 7- of-11 from the floor with a trio of threes...Andrey Semenov scored nine points and Abdulai Jalloh seven in the loss for JMU.
