(Sports Network) - A.J. Abrams led all players with 17 points as sixth-ranked Texas rolled past Saint Joseph's, 68-50, at the Maui Invitational from the Lahaina Civic Center.
Gary Johnson notched 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Longhorns (3-0), who also got 14 points from Damion James and will face the winner of the Notre Dame-Indiana contest in a Tuesday semifinal.
Ahmad Nivens poured in 14 points and a game-best 13 rebounds for the Hawks (1-2), who shot just 29.3 percent (17-of-58) from the field and who play Indiana on Tuesday. Darrin Govens added 12 points and Tasheed Carr scored nine.

Texas assumed control of the contest early, never trailing from the outset and eventually taking a 20-10 lead just past the midway point despite cold shooting from the field.
The Hawks went on a 6-2 run and collected the final four points of the half to trail 37-28 at the break after Govens nailed a three in the final seconds.
Texas awoke early in the second half, embarking on an 11-2 run to go up 48-30 before five minutes elapsed. Seven straight from the Hawks reduced the deficit to 11 before poor shooting plus another brief run put the Longhorns up by 20 with under nine minutes to play.
Saint Joseph's could not close its gap below double digits for the remainder of the contest.
