(Sports Network) - Although Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn was benched in Sunday's home loss to the Houston Texans, head coach Romeo Crennel named him the starter for this week's game versus the Indianapolis Colts. "Brady is still the starting quarterback," Crennel said one day after a 16-6 setback to the Texans. "I told him last night he had not lost his job. He is the starter. He is the quarterback. He is not on a short leash."

Quinn was only 8-of-18 for 94 yards with two interceptions before being pulled for 2007 Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Anderson. Anderson lost the starting job to Quinn after a 3-5 start and did no better on Sunday, completing just five of his 14 pass attempts for 51 yards with an interception.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion? Crennel noted that he was trying to find a spark in his team when he made the switch at quarterback. Quinn made a few misreads according to the head coach, who was also being cautious with the youngster's fractured right index finger.

"In that circumstance I decided to make the change try to get the spark. Some of that had to do with a couple misreads he made and some of it had to do with my knowledge of the finger situation," Crennel added.

Drafted 22nd overall by Cleveland out of Notre Dame in 2007, Quinn has passed for 518 yards with a pair of touchdowns and two interceptions for a 66.6 rating in his three starts.
