(Sports Network) - With the 2008 Major League Soccer Expansion Draft to help stock the Seattle Sounders FC's roster slated for Wednesday, MLS released the list of players left unprotected, who are available for the 2009 expansion team to select in the 10-round draft. The other 14 MLS teams had to submit a list of 11 players to protect, with every other player on their roster available for selection by the Sounders. Teams did not have to protect Generation adidas players or designated players unless the player has a no-trade clause. Also, teams were restricted in the number of international players that they had to make available.

Seattle may not claim more than one player from any given team, and four teams will not have a player taken in the expansion draft. After the expansion draft, Seattle will also have priority over players who played professionally in the United Soccer Leagues.
