Miikka Kiprusoff made 27 saves to pick up the win for the Flames, who have won four of five.
Curtis Sanford, in his second start since franchise goaltender Roberto Luongo strained his groin, was beaten four times on 33 shots for the Canucks, who had their four-game winning streak halted. Mason Raymond, Daniel Sedin and Darcy Hordichuk registered goals in defeat.

Just over two minutes after Raymond tied the game, 3-3, Glencross stole a lazy pass in the Vancouver zone, skated in on Sanford and backhanded the disc top shelf for the go-ahead goal with 6:31 to play in the game.
The Canucks pulled their goaltender with 75 ticks remaining but failed to get a significant scoring chance with the extra man.
"This is big. I'm not going to hide it," Cammalleri said. "We knew how well [the Canucks] were playing. We looked at the standings and we knew how crucial these points could be."
Hordichuk got the Canucks on the board 5 1/2 minutes into the game, slapping a one-timer from just in front of the right goal line past Kiprusoff.
Cammalleri's first tally tied it up less than three minutes later, but Sedin's 11th goal of the season at the 11:41 mark of the first gave Vancouver a 2-1 lead heading into the second period.
Cammalleri tied it up again on a delayed Flames penalty with 2:59 remaining in the middle period, as he was on the receiving end of a perfect Jarome Iginla pass on the right doorstep.
The hat trick was completed on a one-timer from the left circle just 1:18 into the third frame, but Raymond knotted the back-and-forth affair with a goal from the left goal-line exactly 10 minutes later.
"We didn't play a good hockey game but we were still right there ready to tie it in the third," Henrik Sedin said. "We've got to play better than this. We'll take what happened and move on and play a lot better next time for sure."
