FAIRFAX, Va. - The Fairfax County (web | news) Health Department has modified its priority groups for its upcoming H1N1 flu vaccination clinics.

The Fairfax County Health Department will offer H1N1 flu vaccines at its five Health Department clinic locations (CLICK HERE) on Tuesday, Nov. 10 and Thursday, Nov. 12. The vaccine is now available to all children between 6 months and 18 years of age, regardless of whether they suffer chronic illnesses making them more susceptible to H1N1.

On Nov. 10 and 12, the H1N1 flu vaccine will be offered to: 

  • Children 6 months through 18 years of age 
  • Pregnant women
  • Parents of children 6 months of age and younger

The vaccine is free of charge and available on a walk-in basis to the first 300 people listed above beginning at 8 a.m. at each of the five Health Department clinic locations.

Updated information, about the availability and distribution of 2009 H1N1 vaccine, including consent form and vaccination information statements, is on the county's Web site at: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/flu or by calling the Fairfax County H1N1 Call Center at 703-267-3511.
