(Sports Network) - Troy Brouwer had a goal and two assists as the Chicago Blackhawks downed the Los Angeles Kings, 4-1, at United Center.

Patrick Sharp and Duncan Keith each had two assists for the Blackhawks, who had dropped three of four coming into the game. Cristobal Huet made 17 saves in the win.

Jonathan Toews had missed the previous six games with a concussion, but returned to play on Monday and had a goal for Chicago.

Anze Kopitar scored the lone goal while Jonathan Quick made 25 stops for the Kings, who have lost four of their last six games.

With the score tied in the third period, Chicago took the lead as Brouwer's tip-in at the 1:33 mark on the power play made it 2-1.

About 3 1/2 minutes later, the Blackhawks added another power-play goal as good work along the left boards saw the puck squirt out. Toews grabbed the puck in the slot and beat Quick with a backhander.

"I was just coming out of the corner trying to support the power play," Toews about the goal. "It happened to pop out and it's nice to get a break like that."

Chicago made it a 4-1 game four minutes later as Brian Campbell threw a shot on net from the left circle that Andrew Ebbett tipped past Quick.

"We scored early on both the power plays," said Chicago coach Joel Quenneville. "We had some good movement and got the puck to the net which is always key."

After a scoreless first period, which saw Quick make 13 stops and Huet turn aside 11, the Blackhawks struck just 1:04 in to take a 1-0 lead.

John Madden received a cross-ice feed and skated into the Los Angeles end down the right wing. From a sharp angle at the right side, he threw a backhand on net that got between Quick's pads for his second goal of the season.

However, the Kings scored at the 9:10 mark of the second to tie the game. Drew Doughty blasted a shot on net from the right point that Huet stopped, but Kopitar was on the doorstep to knock home the rebound.
