(Sports Network) - Virginia forward Jamil Tucker is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the Cavaliers basketball team to focus on personal matters.
Virginia head coach Tony Bennett made the announcement on Wednesday. The 6- foot-9 forward will not play in games or practice during the absence.
"Jamil has some things he has to deal with at this time," Bennett stated. "This leave of absence will give him time to deal with these matters."
Tucker played in all 28 games last season and averaged 7.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest. He shot 40.3 percent from beyond the arc and even started four games for the Cavaliers.
