(Sports Network) - Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano has reportedly decided that linebacker Joey Porter will not take the field Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to a report in the Miami Herald, the decision is not injury-related, but Sparano would not elaborate on why Porter will miss the game.
Porter has been hampered by a knee injury and missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but the official ruling on why he is out is "coach's decision."
The 32-year-old has only 2 1/2 sacks this season after registering 17 1/2 for Miami in 2008. He has 12 total tackles in seven games played for the 3-5 Dolphins.
The report states that the team will start Charlie Anderson at weakside linebacker or move Jason Taylor to the weak side and start Matt Roth on the strong side.
