(Sports Network) - Vincent Lecavalier registered two goals and an assist, as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-1, at Jobing.com Arena.

Alex Tanguay had a power-play goal and two assists for the Lightning, who have picked up at least one point in 10 of their last 11 games (6-1-4). Martin St. Louis also tallied, while Mike Smith, making his first start in two weeks, turned away 30 shots.

Adrian Aucoin lit the lamp for the Coyotes, who have dropped five of seven in the month of November. Jason LaBarbera made just 15 saves in the loss.

"We had a lot of guys play with a lot of heart, but we couldn't score on our chances," said Coyotes head coach Dave Tippett. "(Tampa Bay) capitalized, they had big players capitalize on their chances. You can't fault our effort."

Lecavalier, a former 50-goal scorer, potted just his third of the season to give Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead. Ryan Malone sent a long, cross-ice pass to Lecavalier, streaking down the right side. The Lightning captain drifted into the faceoff circle and ripped a backhander that eluded LaBarbera at the 5:59 mark of the first period.

Tanguay scored on the power play with 5:16 remaining, but Aucoin's blast from the point beat Smith on the stick side and put Phoenix on the board with 40 seconds to go before the first intermission.

St. Louis made it 3-1 at 4:30 of the middle stanza when he deposited the rebound of a Lecavalier shot as he crashed into LaBarbera.

"It's been tough to (score) this year, and when I saw (St. Louis) score, too, and how happy he was, it was just a relief. So, it really helps out, and now we just have to make sure it carries over to the next game."

The Bolts led by three goals when Lecavalier's intended pass to St. Louis at the right post caromed in off the stick of Phoenix center Martin Hanzal with 8:14 to play.
