FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. - Police say lanes on Interstate 66 have been reopened Friday morning after a tractor trailer accident, occurring shortly before 3:00 a.m.

The wreck has now been moved to the side of the road, allowing traffic to proceed along the interstate.

Police say the driver of the tractor trailer is likely at fault in the accident that shut down eastbound I-66 at the Capital Beltway. ABC 7 News has learned the driver of the trailer was trying to get to an exit, when the truck, carrying vegetables, swerved off the road.

Crews were on the scene cleaning up after about 100 to 150 gallons of fuel spilled onto the roadway and one saddle bag ruptured in the accident.

The wreck blocked two lanes on I-495 and has cause major delays during Friday morning's rush hour.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured in the crash.
