GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Montgomery County (web | news) police officials say a man was shot by suspects he found in his home in Gaithersburg.

Around 8: 30 p.m., officials were dispatched to the 200 block of Lee Street Wednesday night for a report of shots fired near the Summit Crest Apartment complex.

Upon arriving on the scene, police found a 25-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.

Officers tell ABC 7 News the victim had returned home to find two suspects inside his home in the unit block of Crestwood Drive. The suspects fled. The victim chased them and multiple shots were fired. Police were unable to confirm if anything was taken from the home.



The suspects are described as two black males of unknown ages, one with a light complexion and the other with a dark complexion. Both are approximately 6' tall, and were wearing black ski masks. They were last seen running toward North Summit Avenue.

Anyone who has information in reference to this incident is asked to call the Robbery Section at 240-773-5100. The investigation is continuing.
