Coalition on Illegal Immigration Names Leaders
posted 9:46 am Wed December 05, 2007 - Culpeper, Va.
A coalition of 12 Virginia communities and counties is examining various aspects of illegal immigration in their localities.

The Coalition on Illegal Aliens intends to collect the recommendations of three committees and submit them to the General Assembly for consideration. Culpeper Town Councilman Steve Jenkins, who proposed the coalition, said at the panel's second meeting last week that their goal is "to formulate action toward deterring illegal aliens from our communities."

The coalition named Herndon Mayor Stephen DeBenedittis its chairman and Dick Neese, a Shenandoah County supervisor, its vice chairman.

conundrum
This panel sounds like a bit of bureaucratic blah blah blah but maybe it will create some much needed public, media and governmental attention to this out of control problem.

Attention is helpful but action is really what is needed. We need to protect our borders and deport people who are here illegally.
