Police have arrested three men in the Mount Vernon area for using fake $100 bills.
Members of the Retail Anti-Theft Team arrested 41-year-old Scott Spinella, 22-year-old Chad Simonsen and Owen Davis, all from Delaware, last Thursday after they allegedly uses the counterfeit bills to purchase a few items at the Marshalls and Target stores on Richmond Highway and receive change. Investigators said the suspects also allegedly used wigs and fake moustaches to conceal their identities.
Authorities are still looking into whether or not the suspects used the fraudulent money at other stores.
The suspects were transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and were each charged with four counts of forging bank notes and four counts of obtaining money by false pretense.
