IS THIS A HATE CRIME? SHOULD THE CIVIL RIGHTS DIVISION OF THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT BE NOTIFIED? I THINK IT SHOULD.

Bobick's act demonstrates the kind of bravery and loyalty that any agency, department, or branch of the military would be proud of. Salute.

This is my stepson. He is in really bad shape. We didn't know if he was going to make it through the surgery Thursday night. We got there as soon as we could. We are absolutly devestated. He broke most of the bones in his face, and lost 7 teeth. I love him so much and it kills us to see him hurt. Please keep him in your prayers, and if you can, send him a card at the hospital. I am trying to get everyone to send him cards to let him know that people care and are thinking of him. All we have done is cry. I love him so much, and he is the best person you could ever meet. His dad is a police sergeant in Ohio. All his life, all he wanted to do was to be a police officer. I am going to try to talk him out of it - that is, once he is out of the coma.

Spank
Take this punk poor some gasoline on him and set him on fire in front of the public. This will send a strong message.

Remy
Charge him as an adult, deny him bail and wait for Al Sharpton and Jesse.

IRT NE Blonde - What was missing in the kid's life? Caring, involved parents perhaps (most likely). A stable home environment perhaps. Religion perhaps. Accomplished black male role models like Clarance Thomas, Colin Powell, Darrell Green, Adrian Fenty, etc perhaps. Regardless of what was missing, the kid admits, ADMITS to intentionally running down the officers because of past run-ins with them and was intent upon stealing their guns. What would have been next - schoolyard shootings? No, this little miscreant is beyond salvation. Lock him up with the big boys, throw away the key, and welcome him to Oz.

whoaskedya
NEBlonde you need to go hug a tree! It's too late to save this thug! He said 'he should have gone for the cops gun" and you beleive there is more then locking these kids up we could do? Yeah we could require people to get a license before they have kids! There are far too many people out there reproducing that have NO business doing so!

Toss the keys on this one!

They caught the Hoodlum...so what!!! With the Pro criminal statutes of D.C., a chaotic Court system and Ultra liberal judges, the Monster will get a "reprimand" and be released to do it again!!! Holmes Norton and Fenty should finally realize NO ONE wants to see D.C. get Home Rule...except of course the Criminals.

Crash11
My only question is, Where in the hell are the parents of this little thug? But don't you worry Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson will be there to rescue another thug!!!!

"...what else can we do? What can the community do? What was missing in this kid's life that drove him to run over a cop? " Are you serious?? Because you didn't build a camp fire and sing 'kum bah yah'

Why the cops didn't open fire on the approaching car with the scary gunning engine noise is beyond me..

midniteredbell
figures NE BLOND.....duh..this kid is bad with no hope for redemption. Even his cronies turned him in .... put him away forever. Cops are targets and white cops victims of hate crimes like this.

Prettyboy
Yes crime is getting much worse than I or anyone else could imagine. That "All Hands on Deck" is a joke played on those residing in D.C. to calm their nerves. Nothing short of utilizing the death penalty is going to stop things like this from reoccuring. I just dont understand how D.C. doesn't get it. As for this yooung man had he did this sort of thing in my hometown of Texas and had been just a tad older his butt would fry and sizzle like bacon in the pan. I wouldn't dream of ever living down there in that hell hole. Nope. I'd rather tie a noose around my neck and just commit suicide and get it over with... the stress has to be mighty dog gone high there..

NEBlonde
Crime is getting worse? Where do you live Snowball03? I live in NE and while it's not perfect, I wouldn't say it's worse. Pockets of the city are rough, as in ANY major city. Those pockets are not representative of the majority of law abiding citizens of DC. The media likes people to believe it is a war zone over here!

Snowball03, I also challenge your stat on 99% of people on probation are violating it, thereby becoming repeat offenders. That's just not true. 99% is too extreme. Where did you get that stat?

Yes it is very disburbing that a kid purposefully ran down a cop. But rather than immediately say we need to lock up this 15 year old for the rest of his life, what else can we do? What can the community do? What was missing in this kid's life that drove him to run over a cop? The solution has to be more than locking these kids up.

holtonfb
got to admit it .. the kid even said he was rtrying to ill the cop .. declare the perp an adult and tried as same, if foiund guilty, give him life without parole and put him in an adult facility .. the kid is a socio-path .. and shouldn't see the free light of day .. ever .. the kid wanted his gang colors .. now he's got them to exchanage for prison orange ..

J-B
This teen tried to kill two police, I don't see him becoming a good adult anytime soon. Lock him up for life so he won't do it again. There are just too many bad people around here. Sad.

Prettyboy
Well I am happy they picked up this jerk. Crime down in D.C. won't ever stop until the death penalty is utilized. Now in this particular case the death penalty isn't a factor but had he killed this officer it would have been reassuring to know that they'd fry his butt. With the way the law is set up now it wouldn't have mattered. The punk would have been out of jail in no time flat to do more harm on society. Too bad the cops didn't see him coming and had opened fire. I wish that had been the case. I swear to God, I believe 99 % of all the scum is living in D.C these days. I just wish for one single day D.C. could be transfered over to Texas. Talk about getting rid of the trash.. one day is all it would take if D.C was in Texas, my homestate!

Pachacutec
I agree with previous posters! I wouldn't want to be a police officer nowadays for any amount of money; if they try to do their jobs, people accuse them of brutality and of "picking on" them. However, if something happens to someone THEY love, then they're jumping all over the police for not doing enough to stop crime!

snowball03
Remy,

I agree, the mayor needs to take a stand against car thefts and any other crimes, lets get like California w/ the 3 strikes and you're out policy and pass the gun laws here. I'm sick of this crap, crime is getting worse here and there's only little the cops can do. What good is probation? 99% of criminals are out on probation and are still violating it and what happens when these repeat offenders get locked up month after month, the courts RELEASE them once again.

Remy
These thugs need to be taken off the street. This is VERY disturbing that people have no respect for the law. I pray these thugs are caught and if they are young kids under the age of 18, make them serve punishment as an adult crime.
