Montgomery County School Encounters Lice
posted 9:36 am Fri December 14, 2007 - Gaithersburg, Md.
At one school in Montgomery County, the problem is lice.
Officials at Goshen Elementary School in Gaithersburg are reporting an unusually large outbreak of head lice. Since September, 45 students and 27 teachers have been affected. A spokeswoman for Montgomery schools said that four cases are still active. She said that it looks like their efforts to prevent the infestation from spreading further have been paying off.
Head lice is common in schools, but not usually this large of an outbreak.
