Elementary Student Diagnosed with Staph Infection

An elementary school student was diagnosed with a staph infection known as MRSA. It was reported Tuesday at Stedwick Elementary School in Montgomery Village.
Parents got a letter telling them about the incident and information on MRSA symptoms. School officials said all bathrooms were equipped with soap in trying to prevent the spread of the disease.
Officials said 44 cases of MRSA were reported in Montgomery County schools, but all students recovered.
Health officials said the best was to prevent the disease is with hand washing.
