D.C. Reminds Drivers Not to Pay on Weekends And Holidays

D.C.'s Department of Transportation will install stickers on some parking meters to remind drivers there's no parking enforcement on weekends or holidays.
A D-DOT spokeswoman said the agency expects to have the decals in place within 30 days on its new electronic multi-space meters along K Street and in Georgetown and Adams Morgan. The request was made by a D.C. activist. Terry Lynch said the idea came to him on Veterans Day when an out-of-town driver asked if he was required to pay the meter.
The District collected nearly $1,500 from its multi-space meters on Veterans Day.
