Redskins' Portis Honored
posted 6:03 am Fri December 28, 2007 - Ashburn, Va.
Clinton Portis' performance against the Minnesota Vikings earned him the honor of NFC offensive player of the week.

But perhaps the Redskins running back is a more fitting candidate for Washington's comeback player of the year. His stock was at an all-time low in September after injuries ruined his 2006 season. But this year's numbers have reinforced his value to the team.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?Portis has started all 15 games and is tied with Edgerrin James for the most carries in the NFC. Portis is third in the NFC in yards rushing and his 362 yards receiving is two shy of his career high.

Even Portis is amazed at how fresh he feels. His yards from scrimmage during the team's current three-game winning streak are 122, 126, 124.

And I'm sure the misleading statistics will continue on Saturday considering the top team will be sitting most of its players or those playing will be playing with some caution for the playoffs, huh?

Come on folks. Don't let yourselves go down this lane again... another year.

All you've done is setup another QB controversy for next year. LOL!
