D.C. authorities removed a body from the Tidal Basin Saturday morning. The body was pulled out of the Basin by a D.C. fireboat near the FDR Memorial at 11:30 a.m.
D.C. Fire officials said the body was that of an adult woman in her 40's and had been in the water for a short time.

Investigators believe it is still too early to determine if the incident was a suicide or an accidental drowning.
The victim has not yet been identified. The D.C. medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
