LAUREL, Md. - A 15-year-old girl hid in a closet of her home for several hours after fleeing from a man who approached her while she was waiting at her school bus stop in Laurel, police say.

According to police, the man drove up to the girl wile she was waiting at a bus stop, located at the intersection of 4th and Montgomery Street and told her "to get in the car." After the man demanded for a second time for the girl to get in his car, the girl ran home and hid in a closet. But  she forgot to lock her front door.

The man followed her and entered her home. The girl heard him walking through the house and saying, "I told you to get in the car."

The girl remained in the closet for several hours until her mother came home. The suspect had already fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a light skinned Hispanic male with dark hair and a mustache. He was driving a pickup truck with a sparkling royal blue paint job. The bed of the truck was open.

Anyone with information about the incident or suspect should contact Laurel Police at (301) 498-0092.
