(Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks continues a season-long seven-game homestand Saturday by welcoming the streaking Atlanta Hawks to American Airlines Center.
The Mavs improved to 2-0 on the residency on Thursday when Dirk Nowitzki poured in 39 points to go along with nine rebounds, as Dallas trounced struggling Phoenix, 112-97, in a Western Conference showdown.
Jason Terry scored 19 points and dished out six assists coming off the bench and Jose Juan Barea added 18 points in a starting role. Erick Dampier came within a point of a double-double with nine points and 14 rebounds for the Mavericks, winners of three straight overall.
The Mavs have also won four straight in Dallas after dropping their first four home contests of the year.
The Hawks also sport a three-game winning streak after Marvin Williams scored 18 points to lead Atlanta in a 98-95 victory over the New York Knicks on Friday.
Joe Johnson added 17 points and seven assists for the Hawks, who have won six of eight overall. Josh Smith chipped in 16 points, eight boards and five helpers in the win, while Al Horford ended with 14 points and nine rebounds.
This is the first of a four-game road trip for Atlanta, which has dropped five of its past six away from Phillips Arena to fall to 5-5 on the road this season.
The two teams split a pair of meetings last season, with each club winning on its home floor, but Dallas has won five of the last six meetings in the series.
